Tax Incentives
This is where the little blue Energy Star logo on the left of your page starts meaning something: real money! The Federal Government has what is fondly called the Energy Policy Act of 2005 (EPACT). It is still in force until the end of 2007. We are expecting that EPACT will be extended, however, according to the US Department of Energy, this is the scoop. Another place to keep in touch with is EnergyStar.gov. These two sites will have real information on the EPACT.
Home Owners
Again, you will have to check with your accountant about specifics, however, under EPACT, Federal Tax Credits are available up to $500 for the purchase and installation of Thermo-Shield® for a residence.
We do encourage to check for State and Local funds. There are several States and Local Municipalities do have tax incentives for you to apply for too!
Business Owners
EPACT Tax Deductions for business owners are a little more complex. Up to $1.80 per square foot is available from EPACT, however, you will again have to check with a tax professional so that you can maximize this tax incentive too. Don't forget to check State and Local Municipalities too!
Contractors
Contractors, take note! With the building industry taking a nosedive, Thermo-Shield paint is one thing you can either put into your budget from the get-go, or you can do it after the fact if you need to push out some inventory. Thermo-Shield paint can be installed at a fraction of the what other options may cost you. The Federal Government is willing to give a Tax Credit of up to $2,000 per home. Add what you can get from State and Local governments and you may be surprised at how little Thermo-Shield really costs, while saving Mr. Homeowner huge amounts each and every month!
